Multiple wins for its marketing and model home strategies mean a SAMs sweep for eQ Homes this year.
The builder captured seven trophies at the sales and marketing (SAM) event organized by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA). eQ also took the Grand SAM for the most wins during the awards luncheon on Tuesday at the Infinity Convention Centre.
eQ’s SAM wins come just weeks after the company scooped up the prestigious production builder of the year prize along with best new planned community for its Greystone Village development at GOHBA’s Housing Design Awards.
“It’s been a great year for awards and sales,” said Tobin Kardish, eQ’s marketing and brand manager after the luncheon. “It’s been a real team effort, and that’s reflected in the response from our homeowners and our peers.”
He said the secret to successful marketing in the housing sector is “caring. If you care about your homeowners and your community, it shows.”
The company scored big across a range of SAM categories, from models and most environmentally friendly builder to top sales representative.
Greystone Village was also in the SAM winner’s circle, this time for best condo project, while eQuinelle, eQ’s golf-course development in Kemptville, snapped up the best community prize. It’s the third year in a row eQ has nabbed the community category, winning last year for Greystone Village, & in 2016, for eQuinelle.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, ON – In a night filled with distinctive honours, eQ Homes solidified its reputation as one of Ontario’s leading real estate companies, taking home three prestigious awards at the 35th Annual Housing Design Awards Gala.
With more than five hundred people in attendance, eQ Homes was honoured with the coveted Special Achievement Award: Production Builder of the Year, as well as the Production Home Award: Attached (2,000 sq. ft. or less) for The Atticus, and the New Community (Planned) Award for Greystone Village.
The Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association’s (GOHBA) Awards Gala is a celebration of the industry’s successes in innovation, quality of design and construction. Since 1951, GOHBA has been the voice of the building, land development and professional renovation industry in the Greater Ottawa area, with over 350 members.
“eQ Homes is proud and honoured to receive such recognition,” says Josh Kardish, VP of eQ Homes. “As a company, we’re dedicated to cultivating creativity by challenging the status quo and encouraging innovation. Receiving these awards is a sign that we’re meeting and exceeding those goals.”
Building superior, energy-efficient communities of the highest quality, eQ Homes is responsible for an impressive series of award-winning residential communities throughout the Greater Ottawa area, creating communities in which to live, work and play.
The Real Estate Investment Network (REIN) has named Ottawa as the top city in Ontario for real estate investors. The report looks at many factors besides the real estate market including the city’s economy, population, employment market, etc. According to REIN, Ottawa’s real estate cycle is leading up to a boom, making this a good time to invest in property in Ottawa.
We’re proud and honoured to announce that eQ Homes has won at the GOHBA 2017 Housing Design Awards. The Anderson model at Fernbank Crossing received an award in the Production Home Single Detached (2,000 sq. ft. or less) category.
We received a wonderful letter from a happy couple who purchased their new home at Clarence Crossing in Rockland. Danielle and Allen recently completed their design choices at our Decor Centre and wrote to tell us how great their experience was.
We finalized our kitchen with Deslaurier on Monday and met with your eQ Decor Décor Centre team this morning to pull everything together and do the final check and sign-off on all of our selections. I must tell you that we could not have done any of this without their help, patience and expertise.
Every time we met or corresponded somehow with the eQ Décor Centre staff, they made us feel like we were their only customers. I’m not sure how they pulled that off because we know that they have hundreds of files to work on at once, but they made us feel very special as I’m sure they did for all the other eQ Homes buyers. They knew early on what our tastes were and made selecting everything such a charm. We always received a warm welcome whether we were seeing them on a scheduled appointment or dropping in on one of those crazy chaotic “open house” Saturdays, when they always took the time to reach out to everyone as much as they could.
From the beginning, dealing with the eQ Sales Team at Clarence Crossing, to dealing with Deslaurier, and finally, today, with your eQ Décor Centre team, it’s been an amazing experience! My husband and I walked away from our Décor meeting today feeling so excited and confident in the choices we couldn’t have made without them. Thanks to them, we have no second thoughts and are so excited to see it all come together. You have an amazing team and we are so grateful to have met them. They now feel more like friends than business acquaintances. As we have just retired, this will be our final forever home and we are so pleased with how everything has come together. We can’t wait to share pictures, after the move, to show them the beautiful results of their hard work.
Danielle and Allen
We’re so lucky to have amazing clients like these. Thanks Danielle and Allen for the wonderful feedback!

We’re excited to announce that eQ Homes is in the running for the CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence. Our eQuinelle community in Kemptville is one of five national finalists in the Community Development Award category!
We’ve shared a portion of the CHBA’s Press Release below. Our congratulations to all of the finalists across Canada!
The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2017 National Awards for Housing Excellence.
“These awards are about excellence and recognizing the very best in Canadian new homes, home renovations, community development and marketing across Canada,” said CHBA Chief Executive Officer Kevin Lee.
Thirty-nine CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence will be presented at the Association’s 74th National Conference on May 12th in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador.
CHBA members responded enthusiastically to the national awards program with a record number of entries in 2017. Over 70 judges were engaged in the process over the course of several weeks to review the entries to select the finalists. Then the winners were selected by a national panel of judges who met in Ottawa over the course of three days to review the finalists’ entries. “When you are judging the best in Canadian new homes, there is no doubt that as a judge you have your work cut out for you. With so many exciting and innovative projects to choose from it was a challenging task, and it took a practical army of judges from coast to coast to do it justice! The process also makes it a huge honour to win, so there will be great anticipation and excitement when the winners are announced in May,” said Lee.
CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence will be presented for projects of varying sizes in the following categories:
• New Home Awards (15 in total),
• Home Renovation Awards (10 in total),
• Marketing Awards (10 in total)
• Community Development Award (1 award)
• Net Zero Home Award (1 award)
The new Net Zero Home Award is being introduced this year to recognize a high energy efficient home under the Association’s net zero labelling program.
Two major national awards, one for Marketing Excellence and one for Design Excellence, will also be presented to the home builder who has achieved the highest level of success in the marketing and new homes categories respectively.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 9, 2017 – OTTAWA – Shortly after winning the Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association Community of the Year for eQuinelle, eQ Homes has been ranked as the top Ottawa Home Builder according to OttawasNewestHomes.com.
With a near perfect score of 99%, eQ Homes topped the field of 20 local builders.
Builder reputation is the most critical element that informs a home buyer’s purchase, once the criteria of affordability, appeal and quality are satisfied. It’s a positive indicator of past performance, which is the best predictor of how a builder will perform in future.
“We strive for excellence in every interaction” says Dave Wallace, COO of eQ Homes. “A top score of 99% is pretty good, but we’ll continue to work towards that perfect score.”
Unlike other rankings, OttawasNewestHomes.com relies on objective data collected by reputable third party organizations, rather than comments left by anonymous individuals online. This helps ensure a fair and objective comparison between builders.
“We were concerned at how Ottawa home buyers were being misled by false builder ratings in search engine results, so we leveled the playing field. Our Pro Builder Rating is based on real performance data collected by authoritative third-party organizations and is comprised of three significant components: Builder Quality, Customer Engagement, and Social Engagement. For eQ Homes to score this highly, they are doing everything right,” explains Oliver Harte, owner of OttawasNewestHomes.com.
eQ Homes has four master-planned communities for Ottawa buyers to choose from; eQuinelle, Fernbank Crossing, Clarence Crossing and Greystone Village. In 2017 they will launch two new communities; Pathways in Letrim and Riverwalk on the river in Manotick.
